Autoglass is a company that focuses on providing services to the insurance market and the trade of glass and automotive parts for consumers, workshops and retailers. The company, which has more than 50 years of history, is headquartered in Vila Velha, Espírito Santo, and has more than 70 own stores throughout Brazil, in addition to more than 900 accredited.
Flexa Cloud and Autoglass are long-standing partners and, during an event on cloud computing held by Flexa, bottlenecks were identified at Autoglass in relation to data query time. Due to its high volume of data, the company performed queries in an average time of 12 hours and, sometimes, at the end of the processing, the result presented errors, which was a problem, since the business needs quick answers.
The Challenge x Solution
In this way, the company was introduced to the Amazon Redshift data warehouse, known for being the most popular and fastest data warehouse in the cloud. After interest in Redshift, the Flexa team started implementing the data warehouse. For this, a VPC network segmented across multiple AWS networks was created for better availability and security. Flexa Cloud used Redshift as a data warehouse and also created a machine to visualize the data collected with restricted access and done via Autoglass VPN.
The result
By implementing Redshift, which makes data analysis simple and cost-effective, Autoglass has reduced its data query time from 12 hours to as little as 10 minutes. Thanks to the high performance of this data warehouse, Autoglass can now realize insights in the time the business needs it, with a much lower cost compared to an investment in on-premise infrastructure.
