The General Personal Data Protection Law (LGPD) establishes rules for the collection, manipulation, storage and sharing of personal data managed by Brazilian organizations operating in the national territory.

The forecast was that this new legislation would come into force in August 2020, but, due to the coronavirus pandemic (Covid-2019), it was postponed to 2021.

We chatted with Dr. Gustavo Gobi Martinelli, a lawyer specializing in Digital Law and university professor who told us about the importance of LGPD. He also spoke about the impacts of the law on companies and what managers need to do to adapt to this new legal reality.
