Saipos reduces database costs by 30%
A frogs is a startup that uses artificial intelligence and cognitive computing to provide state-of-the-art systems for managing restaurants and bars. Headquartered in São Leopoldo/RS, it serves thousands of customers throughout Brazil.
Eric Alves, leader of special projects at Saipos says that for a long time the Oracle database served the company very well. But that changed with the growth of the business, “with the scale in the number of users and everything else, this bank ended up being an obstacle to the growth of the application. The costs generated, for example, were very high”.
It was there that the field entered the Flexa Cloud, which has been providing services to Saipos for two years in application monitoring and observability services. The project to migrate the Oracle database to PostgreSQL began, with the Flexa and Saipos teams working together.
“It took two months, because, due to a lack of manpower, the work took a little longer. Considering that we were dealing with the migration of a volume of more than 2 billion pieces of data, and that we did several tests to guarantee total success, we are satisfied with the duration of the process”, says Alves.

DDMX Powers IT Infrastructure on AWS
A DDMX is a company specialized in logistics solutions that uses technology to provide services according to the specific needs of each client, from the analysis and interpretation of data.
Located in Itajubá, south of Minas Gerais, the company operates nationally and internationally, serving clients in Chile and Argentina.
Based on Information Technology, the growth of DDMX began to demand more infrastructure capacity. The acquisition of customers such as the electricity distribution company ENEL made this need even more evident.
A big step taken by DDMX was the migration to Amazon Web Service (AWS). For this, Flexa Cloud was the ideal partner, according to Fábio Preti, the company's IT director.

Banco Semear improves data intelligence
Inspiring the conscious use of financial solutions has always been the mission of SEMEAR, a multiple bank with operations throughout the national territory. Reaching 2 million customers, the institution, founded in 2006, has been dedicating efforts to the continuous improvement of operational management, driven by the evolution of its technological framework and process automation.
“In 2019 we needed to improve our BI system, a homemade solution built over 3 years that had been having problems with the delay in generating results. The initial processing took a few minutes, but over time it took more than an hour to complete the processing”, says Júlio Caldas, responsible for the Data Intelligence area at Banco Semear.
The executive says that he also needed to create a layer of dashboards and trend reports, KPIs that would drive business decisions. To this end, it was important to consolidate several databases into a single environment.
So a project was started in which several cloud solutions were evaluated. The chosen application should support databases capable of storing large volumes of information and providing quick responses.
After evaluating some suppliers, Banco Semear closed a contract with Flexa Cloud and started the construction project of the new EDW (Enterprise Data Warehouse).

Artmak improves IT infrastructure
A artmark is a company specialized in digital business development. It develops websites, applications, e-commerce platforms, among other products and services.

ASOEC Group scales distance learning to 30 students with AWS technology
The Salgado de Oliveira Association of Education and Culture (ASOEC Group) owns Universidade Universo, Unitri and Colégio de Aplicação D. Helder Câmara. It is among the largest education groups in the country with over 30 students.
With the arrival of the pandemic, the institution needed to accelerate its distance learning project, as social isolation prevented face-to-face classes.
Flexa Cloud, AWS business partner and IT service provider of the ASOEC group, was then called upon to make adjustments to the IT infrastructure.
To arrive at this solution, the Flexa Cloud team created a test scenario that allowed the simulation of simultaneous uses with 30 users.
And the results of the project are visible:
- the expansion of moodle allowed the institution to build an end-to-end digital journey for its students;
- the entire process of interaction between the student and the university can be carried out online — from the entrance exam to the tests, passing through the classes;
- Unlike more than 70% of higher education institutions in the country, the ASOEC Group's enrollment renewal was not hampered, and the student attrition rate did not increase;
- environment capable of supporting 30 thousand simultaneous tests and 30 thousand simultaneous students in online classes.
