Cloud computing grows in Brazil

The study “Global Performance on Cloud Computing”, carried out by BSA with 24 countries that lead the world Information Technology (IT) market, reveals that Brazil jumped from 22nd position in 2016 to 18th in 2018.

The indicator is positive, as it reveals that Brazil is investing in a technology that has revolutionized internet communication and still has enormous potential.

Investment in cloud computing in Brazil

The country followed the global trend of cloud computing growth and also began to invest more in this area.

According to research, the growth of cloud software between 2018 and 2019 was in the range of 22%, quite different from the 6% growth for other forms of software.

Another report showed that 40% of IT investments by Latin American companies will be based on the cloud, and Brazil captures a good portion of this investment.

The Brazilian Association of Information and Communication Technology Companies (Brasscom) released data for 2017 that showed that the cloud segment grew 51,7% in the year and reached a revenue of R$ 4,4 billion.

Also according to brasscom, growth in the segment between 2018 and 2021 should be 27% per year, which will achieve the following revenue in each of the areas of cloud computing:

  • Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS): BRL 12,4 billion;
  • Software as a Service (SaaS): BRL 12,3 billion;
  • Platform as a Service (PaaS): BRL 4,3 billion.

If expectations are confirmed, the cloud computing sector in Brazil should reach the value of R$ 29 billion, which will probably make the country climb even more positions in the world ranking.

And you, what are you waiting for to migrate to the cloud?
