To face new market challenges and further improve customer experience, Móveis Simonetti decided to develop its own e-commerce, replacing the marketplace platform previously in use. The company realized that some strategies that worked well in physical stores were not possible or viable to implement on the previous platform.

The company is committed to expanding the omnichannel experience, innovating its technologies so that this experience is increasingly refined, seeking to provide closer and more personalized service and allowing customers, through e-commerce, to clarify doubts directly with salespeople in physical stores.

To better meet the needs of its customers, Móveis Simonetti wants to expand the range of new payment methods already available in its physical stores to its e-commerce platform. The company serves a large segment of the public who often do not have easy access to credit cards and need multiple payment methods to facilitate their purchases. 

Another major challenge for retail is logistics, and Móveis Simonetti is dedicated to overcoming it. The company is working to provide faster and more efficient furniture delivery and assembly. With this project, the new e-commerce, in addition to its own delivery, now has synchronous integration of freight quotes and contracting with its logistics partners, thus achieving 100% integrity in freight information and assertiveness in delivery times, further strengthening the relationship with the customer. 

When Móveis Simonetti decided to develop its own e-commerce, instead of using a marketplace platform, it understood the risks associated with this decision. The company therefore sought a reliable partner in the market. Flexa Cloud, which had already helped on a previous project, proved to be the ideal choice. This initial collaboration generated great trust between the parties involved. 

Therefore, Móveis Simonetti had no doubt that Flexa Cloud would be the supplier to trust with the application infrastructure and legacy services with AWS. Until then, Móveis Simonetti had already used AWS solutions on an occasional basis. In this project, it was necessary to choose a company with in-depth knowledge and dedication that could monitor the application, create all the controls and offer ongoing support in such a dynamic operation as e-commerce.

The entire AWS solution architecture was designed by Flexa Cloud, with a team of certified professionals. The first step was the implementation of the AWS Control Tower, a service that provides a simplified way to set up and govern a multi-account environment on AWS, following recommended best practices. This implementation was essential to organize projects and other legacy services.

The implementation of AWS Control Tower in a test environment enabled the creation of preventive, detective, and proactive control rules so that projects could be tested before being put into production. Additionally, AWS WAF was implemented, a web application firewall that helps protect web applications against threats such as DDoS attacks.


On the recommendation of Flexa Cloud, an architecture was built in three availability zones. This proximity resulted in decreased latency and allowed the customer to have a faster website experience.

O Amazon S3, a scalable, durable and highly available object storage service with 99,99% availability rates, offered Móveis Simonetti a robust solution for the secure and reliable storage of large volumes of data. Redundancy across multiple availability zones ensured data protection against regional failures, ensuring continuity of operations. This configuration not only improved system resilience but also significantly reduced the risk of data loss, allowing Móveis Simonetti to maintain a high level of service to its customers, even during peak demand or unforeseen incidents.

O Amazon Aurora, a relational database engine compatible with MySQL and PostgreSQL, has provided Móveis Simonetti with exceptional high performance and availability, being up to 5 times faster than standard MySQL. This performance improvement has allowed Móveis Simonetti to process transactions and queries much more efficiently, reducing response times and significantly improving the user experience in e-commerce.

To improve the customer search experience, Móveis Simonetti implemented the Amazon Elasticsearch Service, a managed service that facilitates the scaling of clusters on AWS. This implementation allowed Móveis Simonetti to offer faster and more accurate search results, improving navigability and user satisfaction. In addition, the robustness and flexibility of the service allowed the integration of advanced search functionalities, such as filters and smart suggestions, making the online shopping experience more intuitive and efficient for customers.
O Amazon ElastiCache for Redis, an in-memory caching service, provided Móveis Simonetti with extremely fast performance with latencies in the microsecond range. This ultra-fast responsiveness was crucial to speeding up page load times and improving the overall performance of the e-commerce site. As a result, customers experienced smoother and more immediate navigation, especially during data-intensive queries and operations.

Furthermore, the New Relic was used to provide end-to-end observability of AWS services, infrastructure, and costs, enabling Móveis Simonetti to monitor and analyze its e-commerce performance in detail. This enhanced visibility helped Móveis Simonetti quickly identify potential issues and proactively address them, minimizing disruptions and ensuring continuous operations. With real-time insights into resource utilization, Móveis Simonetti was able to optimize resource allocation, reduce operational costs, and improve overall efficiency. New Relic also facilitated informed and strategic decision-making, accelerating the adoption of new cloud technologies and strengthening the company’s ability to respond quickly to market demands.

Móveis Simonetti already had people on the team who were familiar with the AWS structure. This robust planning, combined with the implementation of AWS servers, significantly reduced latency, providing customers with a faster and more efficient website experience. 

Flexa Cloud played an essential role alongside Móveis Simonetti in building a scalable and resilient architecture, which efficiently supported the increase in traffic and ensured high website availability, offering a reliable and continuous shopping experience for customers. 

Móveis Simonetti also took advantage of Flexa Cloud’s expertise and learnings from successful cases. This knowledge allowed the creation of contingency and high availability structures, with the site hosted in three availability zones in Brazil. This configuration not only ensures a faster website, but also ensures that it is always available to customers.

The implementation of new technologies and the improvement of infrastructure have resulted in a significant increase in website performance and, consequently, sales. Compared to the same period last year, Móveis Simonetti has already seen a considerable increase in results, driven by the change of platforms, the improved shopping experience and, of course, commercial strategies. In the first quarter of 2024, there was a 49,45% growth in e-commerce transactions. In November, with the Black Friday strategy, the company achieved a 31% growth compared to the same period in 2023. This clearly demonstrates the benefits achieved after such changes.
